GOLDEN JUBILEE CELEBRATION OF PAU TO START ON JANUARY 2

LUDHIANA, DECEMBER 30:-Established in 1962, Punjab Agricultural University is completing 50-years. The year 2012 is being celebrated as the Golden Jubilee Year.  The formal start of the celebration will be held on January 2, 2012.  The former Vice-Chancellors of PAU namely, Dr. S.S. Johl, Dr. Khem Singh Gill, Dr. A.S. Khera, Dr. G.S. Kalkat, Dr. K.S. Aulakh and Dr. Manjit Singh Kang will participate in the function to be held at
PAU on January 2, 2012 at 11.00 a.m.  They will be honoured on the occasion by the present Vice Chancellor, Dr. Baldev Singh Dhillon.
    The Registrar, Dr. R.K. Mahey said that the Vice Chancellors will plant saplings near the Administrative Block of PAU and Dr. Kalkat will release the Golden Jubilee Logo of PAU.  On this occasion eight publications brought out by Centre for Communication and International Linkages will be released in addition to the Golden Jubilee issues of the farm magazines, Changi Kheti and Progressive Farming, Agricultural Hand Book-2012 and the PAU wall calendar.  There will be a curtain raiser of the numerous activities/programmes including symposia, workshops, seminars, exhibitions, lectures, farmers fairs, ets., that will be held through out the year.
    The Additional Director Communication, Dr. Jagtar Singh Dhiman said that the PAU Vice Chancellor, Dr. Baldev Singh Dhillon will deliver a live television talk on 50-years of PAU from Doordarshan Kendra Jalandhar in the morning on January 1, 2012.
