CM directs administration to ensure essential services to general public

SHIMLA 7 January 2012 : Prof. Prem Kumar Dhumal, Chief Minister, has directed district administration of all the districts of the State to ensure that no inconvenience was caused to the general public due to ongoing snow fall and rains in different parts of the State for the past two days. 
Chief Minister said that the State was experiencing snow fall and rains in different parts for the last two days and in some areas the snow and rains were pouring in heavy quantity.  He said that all out efforts were being made to ensure availability of all essential supplies and services to the people.  He directed concerned authorities to ensure that drinking water, electricity, food grains and other essential services were made available to the people. He also directed them to clear snow from the roads to facilitate smooth movement of vehicular traffic and also make efforts to clear link roads in snow bound areas.  He said that adequate stocks of essential commodities had already been provided to meet requirements of the tribal and difficult areas during winter season.
Prof. Dhumal directed the State and District Administration to keep a close watch over the stockists and ensure availability of  essential supplies and services to the general public un-interrupted.  He assured the people of the State that all out efforts would be made to maintain the road and communication links so that no inconvenience was caused to them due to heavy snow fall and rains.
