Amritsar, January 12, 2012 : More than 30 dance artists from United States of America, Poland and Canada will perform at local Khalsa College of Education (KCE) tomorrow during the 5th Amritsar International Folk Festival, being organized on the campus with collaboration of Punjab Cultural Promotion Council (PCPC). The artists include 14-member-cultural troupe Miriachi Imperial De America, Lza Seroca Polish folk troupe and Maude Aboti, a French dancer from Canada. The Khalsa College Governing Council (KCGC)-run-KCE is hosting the international cultural festival annually, said Principal of the College, Dr. Jaswinder Singh Dhillon.
He said the festival will have the blend of Western and Indian, especially Punjabi dance forms and it would be the rare opportunity for the artists to perform together at the stage, to further the cause of international cooperation, cultural exchange and world peace and harmony. The College and school students will perform Gidha and Bhangra in the program to be held at College’s newly renovated Bhai Ram Singh Hall. KCGC Honourary Secretary Rajinder Mohan Singh Chhina and other dignitaries will be present during the festival.
