Bhangra Olympiad at GND University on January 21

Amritsar, January 17-  International Punjabi Folklore Academy would organize Bhangra Olympiad, a competition of Bhangra on January 21 at 11 am in the Dashmesh Auditorium of the Guru Nanak Dev University.
    Dr. Inderjit Singh, President of Academy and Registrar of the University said that Vice-Chancellor, Prof. A.S. Brar would inaugurate this festival by lighting candles. He said that eminent Punjabi, folk singer, S. Malkit Singh would preside over the prize distribution and gave away the prizes to the winners.
    He said that in this Bhangra Olympiad, all the winner teams of Bhangra item of Youth festival from the universities of Punjab would perform. He said that a cash prize of Rs. 5100 would be awarded to the best dancer of each Bhangra team alongwith certificate and trophy. In addition to this an honorarium of Rs. 3000 would also be given to each team as traveling allowance, he added.
