The Gurkul Students returned from Dubai

Chandigarh-Panchkula, January 17; Today a 21 member students friendship delegation of The Gurukul, Panchkula led by Sanjay Thareja, Chairman, The Gurukul, and Pramod Sharma, Coordiantor, Yuvsatta, Chandigarh, returned from a five days international students youth exchange programme with Indian High School, Dubai, UAE.
Overwhelmed by the hospitality, cleanliness, landscaping, marvelous structures and institutions in Dubai, Naveen Sharma a student delegate shared that participation in such programmes helps in understanding that how much more interconnected all of us are to the whole world. “With majority of Indian population in Dubai, this visit had broadened our horizons and perspectives about peace loving and law abiding citizens of Middle East”, added Nidhi another student.
Rajni Thareja, Director, The Gurukul shared that these ‘connections’ help teenagers on both sides of exchange grow and gain maturity. And after this visit now they’re expecting the students from there host School in Dubai to visit India, which they probably will do in the upcoming 7th International Youth Peace Fest of Yuvsatta in last week of September 2012, in which The Gurukul management also actively participate as co-organizers.
For Vivek and Sahil the best part of the trip was meeting and interacting with local students and going for sight-seeing to the world’s tallest building Burj Khalifa, world’s largest dancing fountain, Dubai Mall-the biggest shopping mall, Dubai Aquarium, Museum, Dow cruise, Desert Safari & underwater Zoo etc.
Summing up the initiative Pramod Sharma, Coordinator of Yuvsatta-a Chandigarh based NGO which has been organizing such programmes from last 10 years, said that to further foster the relationship they had also launched a facebook page with the name of ‘Indo-UAE Youth Friendship Forum’.
