Bathinda, January 18 : Mrs. Harsimrat Kaur Badal Member Parliament from Bathinda constituency today dared PPCC President Capt. Amarinder Singh to make Prime Minister , Dr. Manmohan Singh announce free power to farmers and 200 unit for poor besides Rs. 1 per Kg wheat to all Atta Dal families if he was really sincere to fulfil these promises, not even made in the manifesto of Congress party.
Addressing the people in various gatherings in Talwandi Sabo area Mrs. Badal said that why should people believe Amarinder who could not implement a single promise made in his earlier manifestod She said that Amrinder discontinued free power for 36 months and poor became victims of higest ever price rise in his regime. Mrs. Badal said moreover these two announcement are not even in the new manifesto of Congress party, raising a question mark over the sincererity of Congress party towards its manifesto.
She said that it was in the public knowledge that Prime Minister Dr. Manmohan Singh, Finance Minister Mr. Pranab Mukherji and Vice Chairman Planning Commission Dr. Montek Singh Ahluwalia have made clear to the Punjab Pradesh Congress party that they should not include these subsidy oriented schemes in the manifesto. She said that why should Punjabis believe the hollow promises of Amarinder Singh who hardly remains in the state during his tenure. She said that let Prime Minister announce on the stage during his visit to Amritsar and Ludhiana that free power to farmers would continue and government would give wheat to the poor people of Atta Dal family at Rs. 1 per kg and Union government would bear the budget of all these consessions only then people of Punjab would have some reason to believe the paper announcements of Amarinder party.
Calling upon people to reject Congress party that was not sincere to their cause, Member Parliament from Bathinda said that Capt. Amarinder Singh will hardly accessible to even MLAs and would not be available to redress their problems. She said that only S. Parkash Singh Badal know the pulse of the people and has ability to take Punjab further on the path of progress.
