Amritsar : January 25, 2012 : To mark the Republic Day celebrations, the national tricolor was hoisted at the premises of the Delhi Public School , Amritsar and with it was combined the prize distribution ceremony for junior students for academics, co-curricular and extra –curricular achievements.
The National flag was unfurled by the chief guest retired Col. Gurmukh Singh HoD, IT Department, Amritsar College of Engineering in the presence of School Principal Mrs Sangeeta Singh, Member of school Management Mr Aakash Khadelwal besides students and parents.
A short cultural programme was also presented on the occasion with patriotic songs including …Hum Karen Rashtr Aaradhna ….” Besides a students presented a spectacular semi classical dance performance on a song. ‘Bharat Anokha Rag hai…’ ending with the unfurling of the Tricolor, marked the occasion. A school Band played music along with a display of colorful march-past and salute for the guests.
As many as 100 junior students from class-I to IV were honored in 5-categories in which 15 students were declared ‘All Rounders and 8-students bagged the ‘Whiz –Kid’ Prize.
