Election Commission of India has issues new guidelines for casting of votes

Barnala, 25 January- Election Commission of India have issued some new guidelines for casting of votes so that no voter is deprived from casting his/her vote.
Giving this information District Election Officer cum Deputy Commissioner Barnala Shri Vijay N. Zede said that according to new guidelines issued by the election commission of India additional copy of ‘Voter Slip’ would be kept at a facilitation booth outside the Polling Booth so that those voters who have misplaced their Voter Slips and EPIC can collect it at the polling booth itself.
He further told that if photo is wrong in the PER but correct in EPIC then identification can be allowed to be made through EPIC. Where photo is wrong in EPIC but correct in PER then identification can be allowed through photo in PER and where photo is wrong both in PER and EPIC then identification should be allowed through list of alternative documents along with EPIC/Voter Slips.
He also stated that in District Barnala 99.97 percent Voter Identity Cards are issued to the voters therefore these voter are allowed to cast their vote by showing EPIC or Voter Slip issued by the BLO’s. He also appealed to the voters that they should ensure carrying EPIC or Voter Slip on the day of polling so that they do not face any problem in casting their vote.
