AIG Sandhu, Principal JS Dhilllon unfurls National Flag at Khalsa College of Education

Amritsar, January 27, 2012 : Republic Day was celebrated in Khalsa College of Education (KCE) with much furvour and Additional Inspector General (AIG), CID Gursharan Singh Sandhu along with Principal of the college, Dr. JS Dhillon unfurled the national flag on the campus. AIG Sandhu said on the occasion that the Indian Republic’s success is being appreciated all over the world and we should use the right to franchise which would be a step ahead to strengthen our republic. He also appreciated the awareness campaign by the KCE regarding the use of vote as he said it is our social duty to cast a vote.
Dr. Dhillon earlier said that they have the duty to train the right teachers who disseminate the knowledge among students to build a just society. College students, and faculty members were present in large number during the salute accorded to the national flag. On this occasion, balloons were set free and patriotic songs, skit, bhangra and power point presentation on republic day was also organised.
GS Sandhu also advised the youth to stick on to their principal and not to sacrifice their principles for materialistic benefits. He also highlighted the importance of celebrating republic day in educational institutions. He further emphasized that for the higher level of aspirations, we should strive to achieve the goals which we have fixed and accentuate the role of a teacher in the effective building of the nation. The function was concluded with the original Rendition of National Anthem which was sung by Guru Rabindra Nath Tagore on December 27, 1911.
