SUKHBIR CONDOLES DEATH OF NOTED PUNJABI LITERARY GIANT KARTAR SINGH DUGGAL

CHANDIGARH, JANUARY 27: Mr. Sukhbir Singh Badal, Deputy Chief Minister, Punjab today expressed deep grief on the demise of noted Punjabi literary giant Padam Bhushan Mr. Kartar Singh Duggal (95), who passed away at New Delhi on Thursday.
Condoling the death of Mr. Duggal, who scaled the pinnacles in not only Punjabi but also in Urdu, Hindi and English literature by penning down scores of short stories, plays and novels. Mr. Badal said that it was a huge and irreparable loss for the entire literary fraternity of the nation. He said that besides being a eminent scribe, Mr Duggal had also discharged his duties towards the society by successfully completing the daunting task as The Director of the All India Radio and later as Member of Rajya Sabha.
 Mr. Badal said that Mr. Duggal was conferred upon the honuors like Sahitya Akademi Award and Padma Bhushan would be the source of inspiration for the young generations to come. Sharing the grief with the bereaved family, Mr. Badal prayed the Almighty to give strength and courage to the family members to bear this irreparable loss and grant peace to the departed soul.
