Vice-Chancellor Prof. A.S. Brar unfurls National Flag at Guru Nanak Dev University Campus

Amritsar, January 27 – The 63th Republic Day was celebrated at the Guru Nanak Dev University Campus with great enthusiasm. Vice-Chancellor, Prof. A.S. Brar unfurled the National Flag at the University Guest House Lawns. A large number of teachers, employees, students and campus residents took part in these celebrations. The students of the Music Department presented patriotic songs on this occasion.
           Prof. Brar while congratulating the University fraternity said that it is matter of proud that Guru Nanak Dev University being youngest University of the State awarded the status of Centre with Potent ional of Excellence by UGC and become the part of best ten Universities of the Country.
               While expressing his concern over the fee rise and the poor students, He said next year there would be no fee hike in the university in 2012 and 13 and University would arrange its financial resources at its own sources. 
               Vice-Chancellor also appealed the teachers to strengthen the education structure up to international level. He said that University Grants Commission has granted a grant of Rs. 170 million during last two and half years to strengthen University infrastructure and Research work.
Dr. Rajinderjit Kaur Pawar, Dean, Academic Affairs, Dr. Inderjit Singh, Registrar and Dr. Gurpreet Kaur, Head, Music Department also express their views on this occasion.
