Ask Badals how their wealth went into orbit; Capt Amarinder tells people

SAMANA (PATIALA), January 27: Punjab Pradesh Congress Committee President Capt Amarinder Singh today told the people of Punjab to ask the Badal family as how come it accumulated huge wealth from Orbit Transport, Orbit Resorts to Orbit Aviation besides several television channels.
He also announced that once Food Security Act comes into effect people will get aata for Re one per kg. Besides, he said, the monthly cable charges will be brought down to Rs 100 per month against Rs 300 to Rs 400 charged by the Badal owned Fastways. He also reiterated that the farmers will get free power and that too for 12 hours a day as had already been promised in the Election Manifesto.
Addressing a massive rally in support of the party candidate Mr Raninder Singh Tikku here today, he said, the only thing the Badals had done during these five years was open loot of state resources and accumulation of private wealth. He said, with the PTC and Fastway they were earning Rs one crore a day. Besides, he added, they did not leave even the sand and liquor either.
Capt Amarinder recalled his long association with Samana and its people dating back to five decades. He pointed out, it was this association and attachment between the people and the family that they stayed back for seven years to wait and listen to him.
Lashing out at the Akali-BJP government, he pointed out, it had failed at all fronts particularly about the employment. He said, 25 per cent population of the state was unemployed as there were no investments. “What to speak of new investment, even 900 existing units have already moved out”, he said, while adding, this will naturally lead to unemployment. This, he said, was only because the government could not provide the required facility to the industry particularly power.
The PCC President said, the Congress government will restore the 200 units free power to dailts and poor which was stopped by the Akali-BJP government. Besides, he announced that a dedicated fund will be kept for the shagun scheme and old age pension.
Senior party leader and CWC member Mr Jagmeet Brar lashed out at the Shiromani Akali Dal and the Chief Minister Parkash Singh Badal for resorting to rampant corruption. He pointed out, how they had looted the state transport by getting 400 bus permits while circumventing the law.
He disclosed that there was a secret understanding between Gurdas Badal and Parkash Singh Badal with Gurdas getting hospitalized under a proper plan to facilitate senior Badal’s victory from Lambi assembly segment.
Minister of State for External Affairs Ms Pernet Kaur and Mr Raninder Singh also spoke on the occasion and urged people to vote for Congress for a better, prosperous and progressive Punjab.
