State bags 2011 Best Project Implementation Award

SHIMLA 7th February 2012 : Another feather was added in the award winning spree by the State Government when it was conferred 2011 Best Project Implementation Award under  Himachal Pradesh Clean Energy Development Investment Programme Project 1. This was revealed by Prof.  Prem Kumar Dhumal, Chief Minister here today.
Chief Minister said that the award had been given on the basis of good performance of the Himachal Pradesh Power Corporation Limited (HPPCL) for best Project Implementation during the calendar year 2011.
Prof. Dhumal said that HPPCL, a subsidiary of the State Government had been allotted various projects and congratulated it for its best performance as evaluated by the Department of Economics Affairs, Union Finance Ministry and Asian Development Bank in a meeting at Pune today. 
Chief Minister said that State had been appreciated by external funding agencies like World Bank and ADB for best performance under external funded projects and added that this showed the sincerity of purpose of State Government for speedy development of the State and public welfare at large. .
He said that the award had been given to the HPPCL for executing the hydro electric projects successfully and which were in operation for a minimum uninterrupted period of two years.
Chief Minister said that State Government had given added priority for speedy exploitation of identified hydel potential of the State to generate to the State exchequer and employment to local people. He said that projects having generation capacity of more than 1200 MW had been commissioned during last four years. With conferring of this 2011 Best Project Implementation Award, the tally of awards won by the state had gone to 54.
