Chandigarh: 09 Feb 2012 : NCC Group Headquarter Shimla has been adjudged the ‘Best NCC Group’ out of 08 groups of NCC Directorate Punjab, Haryana, Himachal Pradesh & Chandigarh. It has won the Additional Director General’s (ADG’s) Banner for the current training year for promoting NCC activities in Himachal Pradesh. This achievement came to Shimla Group after six years excelling in all NCC activities with the participation and hard work of about 25000 NCC cadets, the untiring efforts of Instructors, Officers and the most important the up-to-date and correct documentation by clerical staff. The year saw the Shimla NCC Group emerging victorious in Thal Sainik Camps (TSC), Inter Group Competitions and the superlative performances exhibited by the cadets during National Integration Camp (NIC) held at Shimla and during the Prime Minister’s Rally in New Delhi.
     Director General’s NCC commendation Cards, coveted medals and certificates of appreciation have been presented to Associated NCC Officer (ANO) Shri Rahul Dev Kaushal from Dalhausie for training Republic Day 2012 contingent and NCC cadet Mamta Devi from Govt College Mandi for mountaineering expedition scaling 19000 feet Thelu Peak in Uttrakhand .
