Varsity lecturer gets young scientist award-2010

Amritsar, February 10 – Dr. Maninder Kaur, Lecturer in the Department of Food Science and Technology of the Guru Nanak Dev University has been awarded the prestigious Young Scientist Award-2010 by the Association of Food Scientists and Technologists (AFSTI).
The award was presented to Dr. Kaur in recognition of her contribution in the field of Food Science and Technology at the 21st Indian Convention of Food Scientists and Technologists which was held at Pune recently. AFSTI is one of the most prestigious bodies in the field of Food Science and Technology.
Dr. Kaur did her graduation, post graduation and doctorate from University. She was a University topper throughout her academic career and holds various scholarships. She also received Post Doctoral Fellowship by Korea University, Seoul, South Korea.
Apart from teaching, she is engaged in research on legumes and pulse sciences-characterization and modification of starches. Dr. Kaur has 26 research papers of International repute to her credit and several presentations in national/international symposia and conferences.
