PAU STUDENT CLINCHES GOLD MEDAL IN SHOOTING CHAMPIONSHIP

LUDHIANA, FEBRUARY 14: The B.Sc Home Science student of the Punjab Agricultural University (PAU), Aditi Sewak, clinched Gold Medal during All India Inter-Varsity Shooting Championship, held at Jiwaji University, Gwalior, from February 1-4. A brief function was organized wherein the PAU Vice-Chancellor, Dr Baldev Singh Dhillon, lauded the remarkable performance of Aditi and honoured her for bringing laurels to the
university. Dr D.S. Cheema, Director Students’ Welfare, PAU, said that Aditi scored 375 out of 400 in 10 m Air Pistol (Women) event. Earlier,
she had brought a Team Gold Medal in 10m Pistol Junior Women (ISSF) Civilian Championship (Individual), Silver Medal in 10m Pistol Junior
Women (ISSF) National Championship (Individual) and Bronze Medal in 10m Pistol Junior Women (ISSF) Civilian Championship (Individual)
during 55th National Shooting Championships, held at Shivaji Sports Complex, Belwadi, Pune, in November 2011. A state level Gold Medalist
in 2010, Aditi has participated in three National Shooting Championships in 2009, 2010 and 2011. The PAU has the credit of producing sportspersons at national and international levels, said Dr Cheema.  Present on the occasion were Dr Pushpinder Kaur Sandhu (President of PAU Shooting Club), Dr Mann Singh Toor, Dr Nirmal Jaura and other members of the faculty.
