3-Member Peer Team of NAAC completes its 3-day format inspection of the Academic Staff College of the Guru Nanak Dev University

Amritsar, February 15:  The 3-Member Peer Team of National Assessment and Accreditation Council (NAAC) of UGC concluded its 3-day format inspection of the Academic Staff College (ASC) of the Guru Nanak Dev University here today and its Chairman, Prof. Bhoomitra Dev presented the Review Report to the Vice-Chancellor, Prof. A.S. Brar and the Director of the ASC, Dr. Satish Verma.
Prof. P.S. Jayaramu and Prof. J.P. Pachauri were the other members of the visiting Peer Team. The committee besides meeting the Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Brar, it also interacted with the Registrar, Dr. Inderjit Singh; Dean, Academic Affairs, Dr. Rajinderjit Kaur Pawar; Dean, College Development Council, Dr. M.S. Hundal; Director ASC, Dr. Satish Verma, Members of the Advisory Committee and Finance and Development Officer. The Committee also met the principals of the 10 colleges and interacted with 30 resource-persons and 60 teacher-participants of refresher courses organized by the ASC recently. 
Presiding over the Exit Meeting, NAAC Peer Team Chairman, Prof. Bhoomitra Dev appreciated the achievements attained by the Guru Nanak Dev University during the recent years. He, on this occasion, said that though Academic Staff Colleges of the Universities play a vital role in training the teachers but for imparting quality education there is a dire need of world class infrastructure and highly trained teachers. 
Dr. A.K. Thukral, Director Research thanked the Chairman and other members of the NAAC Peer Team on behalf of the Vice-Chancellor and the University. Dr. Inderjit Singh, Registrar, Dr. Satish Verma, ASC Director, Prof. R.K. Mahajan, Professor Incharge (Examinations) and members of the Advisory Committee, University Officers and the Staff of the ASC were present on this occasion.
