CHANDIGARH FEB :19 : Punjab Governor and Administrator UT Chandigarh Mr Shivraj V. Patil ,greeted the people on the occassion of Maha Shivaratri and in his message said that Lord Shiva is the deity of mercy and compassion ,who protects devotees from evil forces such as lust, greed , anger and grants boons by awakening wisdom amongst them.Mr Patil urged the people to celebrate the festival with traditional fervour and gaiety.
