Guru Nanak Dev University organized Dr. Paramjit Singh Walia Memorial Lecture

Amritsar, February 21  – Guru Nanak Dev University organized Dr. Paramjit Singh Walia Memorial Lecture in the Conference Hall of the University. This lecture organized by the School of Punjabi Studies of the University was dedicated to International Mother Language Day.
Prof. Paramjit Singh Dhindsa, Director, Punjab University Regional Centre, Sri Mukatsar Sahib delivered this lecture while Dr. Paramjit Singh Sidhu, Former Head of the Department presided over. Dr. Sukhdev Singh Khehra, Head of the Department welcomed the chief guest and others. Prof. H.S. Bhatia presented vote of thanks.
In his lecture, Prof. Dhindsa detailed about the development of Punjabi literature and its history. He said that in spite of many efforts, Punjabi language is still not able to get the desired status.  
A poster exhibition was also organized by the students to mark the International Mother Language Day on this occasion.
