3-week Refresher Course in Information Technology inaugurates at GND University

Amritsar, February 23- "Teachers are role models of the society and they should perform their duties not as a profession but as a passion" said Principal, Khalsa Public School, Amritsar and lady Vice-Chancellor, Dr. Sarvjit Kaur Brar at the inauguration of 3-Week Refresher Course on Information Technology in the Academic Staff College (ASC) of the Guru Nanak Dev University. This course was organized by ASC in association with Department of Computer Science and Engineering of the University.
Prof. Brar presided over the inaugural session. Dr. Hardeep Singh, Director Placement and Dean, Alumni was the guest speaker on this occasion. Prof. Satish Verma, Director of ASC welcomed the Chief Guest. Dr. Kuljit Kaur, Coordinator of the Course detailed about the course. Dr. Gurwinderjit Singh, Head of Department of Computer Science and Engineering presented the vote of thanks.
She said that information technology is important in all respect in our daily life. With the help of IT the world is now converted in global city. She said that teacher of any disciplines must go through the knowledge of information technology. She also stress upon the interdisciplinary approach which is important for teachers. According to her for balancing the global city their role is very challenging in these days. She also said that as a role model teachers should channelize the energy of the students. Quoting the examples of eminent personalities, she said that teachers should play an important role to strong the social fabric.
While addressing on this occasion, Dr. Hardeep Singh said that information technology is necessity of every human being and this technology is beneficial for everyone. Teachers can play an important role to convey about this technology in an easy way to students. The stage was conducted by Dr. Adarsh Pal Vig, Reader, Academic Staff College.
