Amritsar, February 24- GND University won the overall championship trophy of the International Jhomer Festival. This festival was held recently at Jaipur.
Dr. Jagjit Kaur, Director Youth Welfare said that the student artists of the University participated in the items of Music theatre, dance, classical and fine arts in this festival.
She said that University won the first position in group folk dance, one act play, western group dance, mime, mehdhi and rangoli. Similarly, in Indian folk dance, folk song, fancy dress, cartooning and mono acting university stood second and in the items of classical song, classical music, on the spot painting and collage competition this University got third position.
She said that earlier university also participated in the inter university cultural programme organized by Punjabi Academy, Delhi at Talkatora indoor stadium. In this programme total 7 universities participated from north India. The students of this university secured first position in folk music, folk song and second position in Gidha dance.
