February 24; Today Yuvsatta and Department of Gandhian Studies, Panjab University organized a cultural meet of foreign students studying in University and various Colleges in the city with 25 visiting female English Language Teacher trainees from Afghanistan.
Welcoming the international gathering of over 100 students from Afghanistan, Bhutan, Nepal & Iran Dr. ML Sharma, Chairman of Department of Gandhian Studies shared that in modern days we can be citizen’s of different countries, but we all belong to one world and one human race. And quoting Gandhi he further added that “People give chance to nonviolence for a week & then switch over to violence which has not yielded any result for years together”.
The students presented songs, were shown documentary on age-old relations of Afghanistan with India and later presented with autobiographies of Mahatma Gandhi.
