Three students of B. Tech (DT) from Vet Varsity got job in Nestle India Ltd., Moga

Ludhiana-10-May(Bharatsandesh news): College of Dairy Science & Technology, Guru Angad Dev Veterinary & Animal Sciences University was established in the year 2008 and its first batch of 20 B. Tech (Dairy Technology) students are expected to pass out in the June 2012.  Nestle is the first company to visit for the campus placement of outgoing dairy graduates which is a matter of pride for the college. Dr. P.K. Singh said that Nestle Selected three students named Mr. Abhay Raj, Mr. Gursharn Singh and Karanpal Singh for their moga unit. He hoped that many more companies are expected to follow suit after Nestle. B. Tech (Dairy Technology) is a 4 year degree programme in which students study the course in Dairy Technology, Dairy Engineering, Dairy Chemistry, Dairy Microbiology and Dairy Economics & Business Management for 3 years followed by one complete year of in-plant training/ internship in commercial dairy/ food plants. Currently, all the 20 students of outgoing batch of B. Tech (DT) programme are in the last leg of their in-plant training in various dairy plants including Milk Plants under MILKFED, Punjab; Nestle India Ltd, Moga and Screiber Dynamix Dairy Ltd., Baramati (Pune).  After completing the degree there is great job opportunity of Dairy Technology gradates in dairy and food industry. According to an estimate against the annual demand of about 1000 dairy graduates only 350-400 graduates are produced in the country moreover there is also demand from the foreign countries including Middle East and European countries.
Dr. V.K. Taneja, Vice-Chancellor of GADVASU congratulated the students who got job during campus placement and appreciated the efforts of Placement In-charge Dr. P.K. Singh and other team members to ensure the training and placement of students of the college.  On the occasion Dr. S.P.S. Sangha, Dean of the College of Dairy Science & Technology said that this College is doing its almost efforts to produce quality human resource in this region.
