PUNJAB FOR COOPERATION FROM US ON DEVELOPMENT ISSUES

CHANDIGARH, MAY 13(Bharatsandesh news):
: The Punjab Government has sought broad cooperation from the United States of America to further accelerate the pace of ongoing development in the state in various areas such as education, health, industry, business, Information technology, renewal energy besides to strengthen bilateral relations. Mr. Majithia also demanded ‘mutual exchange program’ based on agriculture, industry and education. He said that Punjab Government was ready to follow the required procedures to initiate such program for making Punjab a more prosperous state.
This cooperation was sought by Punjab NRIs Affairs, Revenue and Renewal Energy Minister Mr. Bikram Singh Majithia, when Mrs. Herro Muspha, Political Consulate General of America called on him at his residence here.
Welcoming Mrs. Muspha for holding a discussion with Punjab in view of development initiatives, Mr. Majithia informed Mrs. Muspha that Punjab was on a smooth pace of development and this pace could be doubled by enhancing cooperation with the United States of America. He said that Punjab requires America’s coordination in the key development sectors including agriculture, health, education, power, IT, business and renewal energy.
The Minister also said Mrs. Muspha that the Punjab has set-up an IIT near Mohali to make its talented students IT adepts. He said that this IT would produce scores of IT professionals every year, who will contribute towards the development not only of Punjab but also other states of India and foreign countries.
Mrs. Muspha, extending thanks to the minister, promised that America would always be with Punjab on the issues of development and provide necessary coordination for the welfare of duo states. She also invited a delegation of Punjab Government to USA to survey the systems going over there, which could also be replicated in Punjab.
