ASSUMES CHARGE AS CPS IN TOURISM, CULTURAL AFFAIRS AND JAIL DEPARTMENTS
Chandigarh, May 15: The Punjab Government would maintain old monuments of religious importance in order to preserve the rich cultural heritage of the state and intensify its efforts to bring Punjab on the world tourism map. Promotion of Eco- Tourism and religious tourism would be on the top priorities of the CPS.
This was disclosed by Sant Balbir Singh Ghunas, while assuming charge as Chief Parliamentary Secretary in the department of Tourism, Cultural Affairs and Jails Punjab in the presence of S. Sarwan Singh Phillaur, Tourism, Cultural Affairs and Jails Minister, S.Sikandar Singh Malluka, Education Minister, S.Parminder Singh Dhindsa, Finance Minister and many of his supporters, leaders of different political parties. He also said that as per the directive of the Chief Minister, S. Parkash Singh Badal, the efforts would be made to check the drug menace in Punjab particularly in jails.
