17th May 2012 : A reign of terror was unleashed up congress worker Ajit Singh and his three sons last night at V. Rawan PS Begowal, Distt. Kapurthala. Akali ‘Goondas’ acting on the behest of Sh. Bhupinder Singh and led by Daljit Singh alias Don and 50 other descended upon V. Rawan and started indiscriminate firing on Ajit Singh and his family members. The firing went on unabated for 10 minutes in the presence of terrorized villagers at approx. 6.30 Pm yesterday.
Ajit Singh and his three sons have sustained serious bullet injuries all over their bodies. (In photos attached me and Mr. Cheema MLA enquiring about the health of injured Ajit Singh and others) The Akali ‘Goondas’ were carrying dozens of illegal weapons including ‘Kattas’ or local made revolvers and guns. They tried to take illegal possession of land belonging to Ajit Singh and were heard shouting that now that there was Akali govt. in Punjab and the son-in-law of Bibi Jagir Kaur was behind them, they would kill anybody who came their way. They all were in a drunken state and also brandished swords besides illegal arms and weapons.
As has been the modus-oprendi of the Akali ‘Goondas’ for the last many years, two members of the ‘Don’ gang have got themselves admitted to the civil hospital at Begowal and are pressurizing the police to register a false cross case against Sh. Ajit Singh instead.
The gang of Daljit Singh alias ‘Don’ comprises of Sh. Malkiat Singh ‘Thunia’ of V. Ibrahimwal, Yadwinder Singh ‘Bunty’ of V. Miani (relative of Bibi Jagir Kaur), Kuldip Singh of V. Tandi, Jai Jagat Joshi of Nadala etc. about whom I had specifically written and met the then DGP Punjab Sh. Anil Kaushik on 26.09.2011. The said Daljit Singh ‘Don’ is already wanted in 6 criminal cases of dacoity, loot, murder etc. and carries a licensed weapon besides the illegal arms. All this was brought to the notice of SSP Kapurthala Sh. S.S.Mann as well but to no avail.
Therefore, I now demand that criminal case be registered against the son-in-law of Jagir Kaur, Daljit Singh Don and others u/s 307, 120-B IPC. I also demand shifting of all four SHO’s in the Bholath Sub Division, since all of them are either related to Bibi Jagir Kaur or they have been posted on political orders.
Today I meet the SSP Kapurthala in his office who has assured me of concrete action against the guilty. I met the Civil Surgeon Kapurthala Dr. Balbir Singh and pressed upon him for appropriate care of the injured.
