Amritsar, May 17 – Guru Nanak Dev University invited applications on prescribed forms for admission to self employment one-year Certificate and Diploma Courses for Matriculate (10th) and Plus Two (12th) pass un-employed youth for the session 2012-13 being run at the Guru Nanak Dev University Amritsar Campus, Gurdaspur Regional Campus and Amardeep Singh Shergill Memorial College, Mukandpur.
These courses are being conducted by the University under the aegis of its Lifelong Learning Department formerly known as Department of Adult Continuing Education and Extension. The students who wish to seek admission in various Courses could apply on admission form available at the working women hostel of the University from May 21 to July 5, 2012.
Dr. (Mrs.) Rajinderjit Kaur Pawar, Director of the Department said that interview for admission to one-year Certificate Course in Dress Designing and Cutting and Tailoring for matric pass girls would be held on July 9, 2012 at 10 am at office of the Department. Similarly, for 12th pass girls, the admission interview for Diploma Courses in Textile Designing would be held in the department on July 10 at 10 am.
She said that for Diploma in Cosmetology, the 12th passed girls candidates could appear for admission interview on July 10 at 12 pm in the office of the Department. She said that admission to Diploma in Computer Applications is open for 12th passed both boys and girls students and this course is run in two morning and evening shifts. She said that the admission interview for this course would be held on July 11 at 10 am for girls and on the same day at 2 pm for boys in the office of the Department.
Dr. Pawar said that admission to Diploma courses in Computer Hardware & Maintenance is open for 12th passed boys only and Course is run in two shifts morning and afternoon, the admission interview would be held on July 12 at 10 am in the Department office.
She said that admission to Diploma in Interior Decoration Course is open to 12th passed girls and the admission interview would be held on July at 2 pm in the office of the Department. Similarly, she said that the admission to Advanced Course in Web Designing is open to 12th passed girls who have basic knowledge of computer. She said that the admission interview would be held on July 13 at 10 am in the office of the Department.
Dr. Pawar said that Advance Diploma Course in Accountancy is available for 12th passed girls who have basic knowledge of computer. She said that the admission interview would be held on July 13 at 12 pm in the office of the Department.
Dr. Pawar said that at University Regional Campus, located at Hardo Chhani Road, Gurdaspur, the Matric pass (10th class) un-employed girls are eligible for admission to one-year Certificate Course in Dress Designing, Cutting & Tailoring could submit their admission forms till July 5 at the office of the Department at Regional Campus Gurdaspur. She said that the admission interview for this course would be held on July 16 at 11 am in the office of the Department.
Similarly, while Plus Two (+2) pass boys only could seek admission in Diploma in Computer Hardware Maintenance and could submit their forms on July 5 at Regional Campus Gurdaspur. She said that the interview for admission to this course would be held at Gurdaspur on July 16 at 1 pm in the office.
She said that at Amardeep Singh Shergill Memorial College, Mukandpur in Distt. Shaheed Bhagat Singh Nagar, the Matriculate (10th pass) girls can take admission in Certificate Course in Dress Designing, Cutting & Tailoring and could receive and submit their application forms till July 5 at the office of the College. She said that the interview would be held on July 18 at 11 am in the office of the College.
