· Action initiated against absentees
Chandigarh, May 18: Punjab Government has taken strict measures for improving the education standard in the schools of Punjab. Pursuing the instructions of Education Minister Punjab S. Sikander Singh Maluka, Director General School Education (DGSE) has specially conducted surprise raids in 141 schools of Ludhiana District. He also found during the checking 18 teachers were absent, 62 teachers were late and 27 teachers were on long leave. He has ordered official inquiry and action against the erring school teachers found absent in the school during the raid. Total 107 teachers has been show-cause notice in this regard.
Disclosing this here today DGSE said that education department Punjab had already instructed all the District Education Officer to ensure the attendance of the teachers in their respective schools of the area. He also said that Punjab Government is committed to improve the education standards in Punjab many fold. He said that no laxity would be tolerated and all the erring officials would be dealt severely.
