Chandigarh, May 18 : In view of the ongoing strike by the depot holders across the state, the Punjab Government has decided to undertake distribution of Wheat and Dal under its flagship Atta dal Scheme through the Primary Agricultural Co-operative Societies (PACSs) with immediate effect.
Disclosing this here today, a spokesperson of Chief Minister’s Office said that the detailed instruction had already been issued to the Secretary Food & Civil Supplies and Financial Commissioner (Co-operation) to ensure smooth and hassle free supply of Wheat and Dal to the eligible beneficiaries through a network of nearly 3500 PACSs in the state.
Meanwhile, the spokesperson also appealed to the depot holders to call off their strike immediately in the larger public interest as a state government was committed to ensure the distribution of Atta Dal Scheme to the needy at the earlier.
