MALUKA VOWS TO ERADICATE CORRUPTION FROM EDUCATION DEPARTMENT
CHANDIGARH, MAY 18: The Punjab Government today place the services of Mr. Harbans Lal, Junior Assistant posted in the office of District Education Office, and Mr. Rajinderpal Singh, clerk posted in the office of District Education Office, Mansa under suspension for deliberately concealing the information regarding vacant stations available in the districts.
Disclosing this here today Mr. Sikander Singh Maluka, said that the Education Deprtment has sought information from all the districts regarding vacant stations where postings of newly promoted lecturers could be made. He said that these two employees, who were dealing assistants, did not disclose this information and demanded Rs. 20000 to 25000 from the lecturers for giving information regarding vacant stations. He said that he has ordered an enquiry against the DEO of both districts and erring staff colluding in this so that deterrent punishment could be meted out to them.
Resolving to eradicate corrupt practices from the Education Department, Mr. Maluka said that he would not spare any employee indulging in malpractices.
The headquarters of the duo suspended employees would be at Government Senior Secondary School in Bhai Rupa and DIET, Budhlada respectively.
