Chandigarh, May 29-NRI commission today orderd the Commissioner of Police, Amritsar to thoroughly enquire into the complaint of Parminder Kaur against her NRI husband Alamjeet singh.
A spokesperson of the NRI commission today said that in the complaint she has alleged that Alamjeet Singh who’s display name on the passport “Singh Alamjeet” is holder of passport no. “F5499347”. She said that her marriage was performed with Alamjeet Singh on October 9 , 2011. She said that His parents started torturing her and demanding dowry from her parents. Her husband assured that he would apply for spouse visa, But he didn’t send it and now asking for divorce. She said that a case has also been registered against his husband at Amritsar. She alleged that police has not taken any action as they are under financial influence of her in-laws.
Spokesperson further said that the NRI Commission ordered the Commissioner of Police, Amritsar to look into the allegations contained in the complaint and to see the fair investigation be conducted in this case. He said that IG NRI Affairs has been appointed to supervise the progress of the investigation. He said that One set of complaint, documents and order has also been sent to Passport Officer, Jalandhar, and for an appropriate action.
