CHANDIGARH- June 05, 2012: The University School of Open Learning,
(USOL) Panjab University is celebrating “Golden Jubilee of Distance
Education in India”. S. Sikandar Singh Maluka, Education Minister,
Punjab has consented to inaugurate the celebrations and Prof. R.C.
Sobti, Vice-Chancellor will be the Guest of Honour.
As a part of these celebrations, a conclave of Directors/CEOs of Open
and Distance Education Institutes in India is being organized where
more than 25 Directors’/CEOs are expected to deliberate. Along with
this conclave USOL is organizing a National Conference entitled
‘Correspondence Education to Open & Distance Education: 50 years of
Revolution and Challenges Ahead”, where more than 35 paper have been
received for presentation. Prof. Lalit K. Bansal, Chairperson, USOL
informed that the celebrations will be held on 6 and 7 June 2012 in
the ICSSR Seminar Complex, Panjab University.
