ENSURE REPLY TO COMPLAINTS AND NOTICES BY MPs WITHIN 15 DAYS –INSTRUCTIONS ISSUED TO ALL OFFICERS

CHANDIGARH, JUNE 13:    The Punjab Government has instructed all the Financial Commissioners, Principal Secretaries and Administrative Secretaries of the state to furnish detailed reply on all the notices of question of privilege/complaints against the District Administration, Magistrates, Collectors and Deputy Collectors etc within 15 days of receipt of question.
    An official spokesperson today said that Lok Sabha and Rajya Sabha Secretariat seek actual reports on complaints/Notices of question of privilege addressed by MPs, Speaker and Chairman against District Administration/Magistrates/Collectors/Deputy Collectors. He said that it has been noticed that states take undue long time in replying to these complaints and it has been noticed that often state government refer the privilege notices to concerned officers/functionaries and reports received from them were forwarded to them without the comments of the state government.
    The spokesman said that directions have been issued to promptly reply to the complaints received from Lok Sabha and Rajya Sabha Secretariat within a period of 15 days.
