Chandigarh, June 19: The National Commission for scavengers is on 4 day visit in the state to assess the problems of the scavengers. Disclosing this here today the official spokesperson of the department said that this delegation under the leadership of Mrs. Kamla Gurjar, Chairperson National commission for scavengers would visit the different parts of Punjab and would also preside over the different meetings. This delegation would find solutions for the everlasting problems of the scavengers.
The spokesperson further said that the 4 day visit of this delegation would last till 22 June. He said that the delegation would also make recommendations to the Punjab government for the upliftment of scavengers. The spokesman said that various departments of Punjab government have been invited to participate in the meetings. He said that many organizations of scavengers and welfare organizations were also expected to participate in these meetings.
