PB GOVT’S SPECIAL DRIVE TO PROVIDE FREE COACHING TO SC/BC STUDENTS FOR COMPETITIVE EXAM

CHANDIGARH, JUNE 22:    The Punjab Government has launched a special drive to impart coaching to the students belonging to Scheduled Castes and Backward Classes for the competitive examination, in the first phase free coaching would be given to the students for bank exams.
    Disclosing this here today, an official spokesman of SC/BC Welfare Department said that free coaching for the entrance exam of Probationary Officers in banks and AAOs in LIC/GIC would commence from July 16 in the Punjab Government’s Ambedkar Institute of Career and Courses. He said that the SC/BC candidates of Punjab were eligible to apply for this free coaching. The Spokesman said that the candidates could send their applications before July 2. Candidates having annual income less than 2 lakh could apply. He said that out of total 40 seats, 70 per cent seats are reserved for Scheduled Castes, whereas remaining 30 per cent seats would be give to the students belonging to the Backward Classes. He said that the students, who have already availed free coaching twice, could not be eligible for the third time. He further said that the selected candidates would be entitled for free coaching, free accommodation and monetary help as per Government rules. The Spokesman said that an interview to select the candidates has been scheduled for July 10 in the office of Principal, Ambedkar Institute of Career and Courses.
