CHANDIGARH, June 26: Punjab Pradesh Congress Committee President Capt Amarinder Singh today hailed the Presidential pardon granted to Sarbjit Singh by the Pakistan President Asif Zardair.In a statement issued here today, Capt Amarinder said, this was really a goodwill gesture by the Pakistani President towards Sarbjit facing capital punishment in that country. He said, it will further strengthen the mutual trust and confidence between the people of the two countries.The PCC President said, people of Punjab in particular really feel grateful towards President Zardari for his noble and generous gesture that not only saved a precious life but also strengthened the faith and confidence of the people of this region about the Pakistani goodwill towards India.
