Mukerian MLA Bubby announces support for Congress

CHANDIGARH, June 26: Independent MLA from Mukerian Rajneesh Bubby today announced his support for the Congress in presence of the Punjab Pradesh Congress Committee President Capt Amarinder Singh, the Union Minister for Information Ms Ambika Soni and others.
Welcoming his support to the Congress, Capt Amarinder said, it was unfortunate that Bubby could not get the party nomination at the time of elections. He said, since selection process is quite complicated sometimes deserving candidates are left out.
The PCC President said, he was happy that Bubby was now supporting the Congress as his family had a long association with the party. He pointed, Bubby’s father Dr Kewal Krishen was not only a party leader but also a freedom fighter and Bubby had maintained the family tradition.
Speaking on the occasion, Ms Ambika Soni said, Bubby’s family and Congress party were synonymous to each other. She said, Dr Kewal Krishen was a party stalwart whose contribution was unparalleled.
Ms Soni said, she had come with the blessings and good wishes of the party President Ms Sonia Gandhi who was equally keen that Bubby should be back in the party.
Bubby said, he was feeling immensely happy today as it was just a homecoming for him. He said, although he had not got the Congress ticket, but the entire rank and file of the Congress party had supported him in Mukerian and had it not been for the Congress workers’ support he could not have won independently.

Among others present on the occasion included Hoshiarpur MP Ms Santosh Choudhary, PCC vice presidents Rana Sodhi, Rana KP, Kewal Dhillon, general secretary Arvind Khanna, MLAs Shyam Sunder Malhotra, Sangat Singh Giljian, Sukhjinder Randhawa and others.
