CHANDIGARH, JUNE 26: The Election Commission of India has fixed the Committee Room-‘A’ of the Punjab Vidhan Sabha Secretariat, Vidhan Bhawan, Chandigarh as the place of Presidential poll, which will take place between the hours of 10 am to 5 pm on Thursday the July 19, 2012 for elected Members of the Punjab Legislative Assembly. According to the Spokesman, Assistant Returning Officer for Presidential Election (Secretary, Punjab Vidhan) said that However, any elected Member of the Punjab Legislative Assembly specially permitted by the Election Commission of India, could cast his/her vote at the place of polling in Room No-63, Parliament House, New Delhi as well as at any other State Headquarter, who are not able to cast his/her vote at his/her own State Headquarter. He further said that if any elected Member of the Punjab Legislative Assembly was interested to cast his/her vote at New Delhi of at any other State Headquarter then prescribed Form in this regard could be taken from the Assistant Returning Officer, for Presidential Election (Secretary, Punjab Vidhan Sabha). Spokesman said that according to the Assistant Returning Officer, option once made by electors, would be final and no change of mind would be allowed by the Commission.
