BADAL CONDOLES SAD DEMISE OF NOTED PUNJABI POET-PAINTER AJAIB CHITRAKAR

Chandigarh, July 3Punjab Chief Minister Mr. Parkash Singh Badal today expressed profound
grief and sorrow over the sad demise of the legendary Punjabi
Poet-Painter Mr. Ajaib Chitrakar who passed away at Ludhiana on Monday
after a prolonged illness.

            In a condolence message, Mr. Badal described the
celebrated Mr. Ajaib Chitrakar as a “rare blend of poetry and painting
who made an outstanding contribution for the promotion of Punjabi art
and culture through his pen and brush.” Mr. Badal recalled the
literary services of Mr. Chitrakar as a beacon for over budding
artistes who guided their destiny in the pursuit of poetry and
painting. Chief Minister also lauded the fine qualities of head &
heart in Chitrakar which made him an equally excellent poet in Urdu
also. Mr. Chitrakar’s unique services for strengthing the ethos of
Punjab, Punjabi and Punjabiat through the medium of poetry and
painting would be ever remembered by one & all. Mr. Badal further said
that In the death of the noted poet-painter Ajaib Chitrakar, a void
had been created in literary and artistic circles which was difficult
to be felt.

          Sharing his heart-felt sympathies with the members of the
bereaved family, the Chief Minister prayed to the Almighty to give
them courage and strength to bear this irreparable loss and grant
peace to the departed soul.
