FOCAL POINTS IN PUNJAB TO DON NEW LOOK

TENDORS WORTH RS.8 CRORE FOR STREET LIGHTING AND ROADS FLOATED
•       ADVISORY COMMITTEES BE CONSTITUTED TO REDRESS THE PROBLEMS OF INDUSTRIALISTS

CHANDIGARH, JULY 5 :The Punjab Small Industries and Export Corporation Limited (PSIEC) has
launched a massive campaign for over all development of focal points
in state. Under this initiative the infrastructure in the focal points
would be upgraded to the highest standards, special incentives would
be given to the small scale industry, thus creating new opportunities
for providing employment to the youth.
It was disclosed by Mr. Sukhminderpal Singh Grewal, Deputy Chairman
PSIEC in a meeting with the delegation of industrialists of Mandi
Gobindgarh, who came to meet him in the leadership of Mr. Mukand
Agrawal.
Mr. Grewal said that tenders worth Rs.8 crore to upgrade the
infrastructure of focal point of Mandi Gobindgarh. He said that Rs.1
crore would be spent on putting up of electricity poles of 350 IG in
the focal point and for installing energy savings lights, while Rs.7
crore would be incurred on civil works, which included replacement of
old tube wells, cleansing of sewerage and construction of new roads.
He said that the Punjab Government has already accorded approval for
the setting up a sewerage treatment plant in the focal point.
