Amritsar, August 16( Bharatsandesh news )- Guru Nanak Dev University celebrated the 66th Independence Day at the varsity campus with great enthusiasm. Prof. Ajaib Singh Brar, Vice-Chancellor on this occasion unfurled the National Flag. The students of the Music Department of the University presented patriotic songs and Gidha to mark the occasion.
Prof. Brar while addressing the University fraternity exhorted the teachers to inculcate a sense of nationalism, social and moral values among their students so that they could become good citizens.
He said that during next three years the efforts would be done to improve the student-teacher relations and maximum attention would be given to solve the problems of the students which they face at the University Campus during their studies. He said that a proposal to setup Students Centre with state of art infrastructure would also be on his agenda.
Dr. Rajinder Kaur Pawar, Dean, Academic Affairs, Registrar, Dr. Inderjit Singh and Dr. Gurpreet Kaur, Head of Music Department also presented their views on this occasion
