CONGRESS TRYING TO FINANCIALLY COMPENSATE ITS AGENTS BY RELEASING DIRECT PAYMENT OF DROUGHT RELIEF-MAJITHIA

ASKS BAJWA TO GET SPECIAL PACKAGE FOR BORDER AREA FARMERS

AMRITSAR, August 21: The Youth Akali Dal President and Punjab Revenue &
Public Relations Minister Mr. Bikram Singh Majithia today lashed out at MP
Partap Singh Bajwa for sympathizing and expressing concern for the farmers
of Majha belt and terms it as a mere political stunt. Mr. Majithia said
that the utterances of Bajwa were closer to grabbing the Presidentship of
Punjab Pradesh Congress Committee. Had he been genuinely concerned with the
welfare of the farming community of border areas of Majha, he would have
raised his voice in the Parliament where he was the elected representative.
Terming the UPA led government in power was neck deep in corruption and
what kind of Justice Nation expects from them asked ,Mr Majithia?

The Youth Akali Dal President also pointed out that Congress led UPA
government has already been accused of Rs.5 lac crore scams namely 2G
Spectrum, Adarsh Housing Society, Allotment of Coal mines, Civil Aviation
and CWG that too by Constitutional Audit Agency CAG. Questioning the
intention of Congress led UPA for accusing Punjab government of
misappropriation of funds, He said that Congress led UPA government, which
was responsible for loot of natural resources like Coal mines and Gas
fields, could never make direct payment to the suffering farming community
in an honest way. He said that UPA was making desperate attempts to
compensate its agents financially.

He said that UPA government by returning just 1.32% to Punjab of the
Central taxes being collected from the state has already ruined this border
state’s economy.

Criticizing Punjab Congress leaders for their criminal silence on the issue
of ignoring Punjab from already announced Rs.1900 crore central drought
relief package, Mr. Majithia ridiculed their latest outcry for direct
payment to farmers. He said that it was the Punjab government which has led
the nation in providing free power for farming sector and due to deficit
rains in the ongoing monsoon session it has spent Rs.7000 crore from its
own kitty to purchase power for further supplying it to farmers. He said
that the people of Punjab were intelligent enough to understand the
anti-Punjab stance of Punjab Congress leader and they have made their
intentions clear by voting in favour of SAD-BJP in Punjab Vidhan Sabha and
then in Municipal Corporations elections. He said that come the 2014 Lok
Sabha elections the people of Punjab would decimate the Congress from the
political scenario of the state.
