Amritsar, August 22-(Bharatsandesh news):Khalsa College of Law Amritsar (KCLA) today took to flying start with inaugural academic session 20112-13 classes beginning on campus following prayers. Renowned Professor of Law and Principal, Khalsa College, Dr. Daljit Singh said while addressing the jam-packed inaugural classes of law that the subject is emerging as most sought after career option in wake of rising awareness of legal rights in society. He said Corporate world is also looking for legal experts in wake of new issues emerging in trade, commerce and company affairs.
Dr.Daljit said the Khalsa College Governing Council (KCGC) is committed to provide best of the legal education to border area students and will help the institution to emerge as Centre of Excellence in law education, by adopting latest legal frame-work. “Apart from theoretical knowledge, the emphasis will also be on practical application of law by training through Moot Courts and different courts at district and High Court level.
A history of sort was repeated as similar to Khalsa College School and Khalsa College’s graduate classes in 1893 and 1897 respectively, three students Jaspreet Singh, Saurav Sharma and Sajeel Ahmad Naseer were first admitted and then admission were made in KCLA. In Khalsa School Kartar Singh, Mehar Chand and Abdullah were admitted in 1893 and in Khalsa College, Sohan Singh, SN Mitra and Mohammad Hussain were admitted in 1897, which speaks volumes of the secular credentials that the KCGC stands for, said Dr.Daljit.
KCGC Joint Secretary S.Ajmer Singh Heir said that the KCGC would make the College emerge as a major centre of legal studies in the times to come. Others present during prayers included Prof.Amrik Singh, Principal of Khalsa College for Veterinary and Animal Sciences (KCVAS) Dr. SK Jand.
