Chandigarh, 26 Aug 2012 (BharatSandesh News): The Punjab Government has decided to set up a Machine Tools Cluster at Batala with the cost of Rs 83 crore with an aim to develop the small and medium scale industry in border areas.
Disclosing this here today , Industry Minister of Punjab Mr Anil Joshi said that keeping in view the potential of small scale industry at Batala, Punjab Government has already moved a proposal in this regard. He said that it would be a boon for the industry at Batala besides creating employment opportunities for thousands of youths .
Mr Joshi said that Punjab Government has taken massive steps to attract the investment in industrial sector. He said that Special Purpose Vehicles has been installed for the maintenance of Industrial Focal Points across the state besides that a Handloom Tools Cluster has also been set up at Jalandhar with the cost of Rs 79 crore.
He said that to make the sanctioning process easier for investors, Punjab Government has been directed all concerned officials of Industry department to provide all kind of approvals within 30 days. In the first of its own kind of initiatives, Punjab has started a Sangat Darshans to solve the problems of Industrialists on the spot, Mr Joshi added.
