Amritsar:– Project AXSHYA run by Voluntary Health Association of India conducted first meeting of ICTC Councilors and Designated microscopy staff (DMC) staff was held with the District TB Officer at Civil Hospital, Tarn Taran. It was presided over by the Civil Surgeon Dr. Dharampal and District Health Officer Dr. Pardeep Singh Khelon. During the meeting various agendas were discussed by Mr. Rajeev Chaudhary District Coordinator Project AXSHYA. He informed the participants about the working and concept of Project AXSHYA. District TB Officer Dr. Vishal Verma expressed his concern over the lack of coordination between the ICTC and DMC Staff. Strategy was formulated to ensure early referral of HIV Patient to T.B. Test.
On this occasion the Civil Surgeon inaugurated “Patient Charter”, which contains detailed information about the rights and responsibility of T.B Patients. Civil Surgeon appealed to all the participants to work in a coordinated manner so as to make Tarn Taran T.B Free district.
DTO Dr. Vishal Verma advised the staff to prepare regular reports in time and support Project AXSHYA in its campaign beside maintaining proper record of the patient.
Both the Civil Surgeon and DTO appreciated the efforts of Project AXSHYA especially District Coordinator in making Tarn Taran- A T.B Free district.
