Special trains for festive season

Amritsar, 14th Oct 2012  (BharatSandesh Bureau):– In order to solve the problem of festival rush, the Railways have decided to run special trains till November-end.  More than 4,000 trips of special trains were planned for the rush period, NC Goyal, Divisional Railway Manager of the Ferozepur division, stated on Saturday. The special trains such as Puja-Chhath are planned by all zonal railways on more than 35 popular routes.

Coaches are being added to regular trains to the extent feasible. Of the special trains planned, six are unreserved, 12 fully air-conditioned, and four super fast.

“The specials are connected to cities such as New Delhi, Mumbai, Kolkata, Ahmedabad, Bangalore, Jammu Tawi, Jaipur, Guwahati, Lucknow, Patna, Chandigarh, Chennai, Raxaul, Muzaffarpur, Gorakhpur, Varanasi, Dharbhanga, Puri, Indore, and Secunderabad,” said a spokesman of the Railways.

The zonal offices of Railway have orders to deploy inspection squads at reservation offices and make arrangements for regular announcements about additional coaches and special trains at stations.
