Amritsar, 27 Nov 2012 (Bharatsandesh news):– Amritsar Vikas Manch has demanded to withdraw the proposal to set up Edu City on PAU’s regional campus situated on the Bathinda-Dabwali road in Bathinda which is spread over 230 acre. It will affect several important projects, including cotton research going on the campus. A few of these projects were being financed by foreign countries. Punjab Govt . already constructed cricket stadium on this land acquiring 25 acre 9 kanals and 9 marla land and handed over Punjab sports department. This is the second attempt on this land which is for research which should be checked strongly. Alternative land should be purchased for Edu City which is to be run by private companies. So this land worth hundreds of crores of rupees should not be given to private companies to set up Education City.
