Amritsar, December 10 – Prof. Ajaib Singh Brar, Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Rajinderjit Kaur Pawar, Dean, Academic Affairs, Dr. Inderjit Singh, Registrar and Dr. Davinder Singh, President, University Teachers Association of the Guru Nanak Dev University have expressed their grief over the sad and sudden demise of Prof. Gurnam Singh, Former Registrar and Dean of the University who passed away on December 9.
In his condolence message, the Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Brar, acknowledged the services of Prof. Gurnam Singh rendered to the University. He said that with the demise of Dr. Gurnam Singh, a committed teacher & scholar of international repute is gone, creating a big void in the discipline of Political Science.
He said that Prof. Gurnam Singh served as Head of the Department of Political Science, Member of the Syndicate, Dean, Academic Affairs, Dean of Faculty, Registrar and Professor-in-Charge Examinations, Director, A.I.S. Center, President and Secretary, GNDUTA during his tenure.
Earlier, Prof. Kuldip Singh, Head of the Department along with all the faculty members, research scholars, students and staff members also condoled the demise of Prof. Gurnam Singh and placed on record the invaluable services rendered by him for building the Department.
The cremation of the departed soul will be held on December 11 at Gurudwara Sheedha, Amritsar at 1 pm.
