Mission Aagaaz news

Several innocent lives are lost every year in our country due to rampant and unabated corruption, violence and injustice and it is tragic and shocking that in world’s largest Democracy the incidents of murders, rapes, riots, violence are carried out by the notorious elements wielding strong political patronage. Most of the Political parties have enrolled people with criminal background only because they are helpful in gathering support during election process while these criminals indulge into all sorts of illegal activities openly for the next five years. These views were shared in a meeting attended by representatives of various NGOs as well as Social activists and people associated with Movements for social cause hosted by Mission Aagaaz. From the discussion a fact came into light that present political structure demands QUANTITY at the cost of QUALITY. This is clear from the rising crime rate not only in Punjab but other States such as Haryana and Delhi too. The political parties will have to introspect within their cadre seriously in order to halt the recurrence of such crimes against innocent public especially the women.

Recent broad daylight murder of an ASI while defending her daughter was deplored and this issue remained at the centre stage of the meeting. It was also observed that until and unless the culprits of 1984 carnage, Godhra Incidence, violence in J&K and other heinous crimes are dealt with stringently by law and the political parties severe ties with them, the criminal minded people will keep on repeating such incidences.

It was decided to mark a protest against the brutal murder of ASI on International Human Solidarity Day on 20th Dec. 2012 and press upon the government to provide safe environment for the general public especially the women. The meeting was attended by Swaraj Grover, Parminder Kaur, Dalbir Singh Calcutta, Deepak babbar, Daljit Singh Kohli, Ravi Pahwa, Ashok Talwar, Gurbhej Singh, J.S. Gill, Jagmohan Singh, R.K. Pahwa, Jagdeep Singh, Shyam Lal Gandhi etc.
