Amritsar, December 18:Khalsa College Governing Council (KCGC) honourary secretary Rajinder Mohan Singh Chhina today stressed on `girls education’ for a better society. He said this while delivering his thought- provoking lecture at Khalsa College of Nursing (KCN)’s `Ardas Diwas’ here today. He said if a girl is educated, whole family is educated as she then transfers the knowledge and etiquettes to children but if boy is educated only he himself is educated.
He also emphasized that value based education was must in present day scenario when violence and declining moral values have taken a tight grip on world society. “Such religious functions inculcate the value-system amongst students. The world is becoming too materialistic and violent and only way is to switch over to spiritual practices’’, said he adding that the drugs have taken a strong grip over Punjab’s society and right education make students aware about ills of addiction.
He said students’ competition today is not just for their fellows in college, at the state or national level but but with students of the world. “You have to compete with the candidates from all over the world. Thus you must imbibe in yourself the spirit of competitiveness and work hard’’, he said adding that nursing courses teaches `service to humanity’ and it must be a matter of pride for the Nursing students to complete their courses with flying ccolours and get good jobs for the livelihood.
